Many caves and countless
dolmen illustrate the great age of the Quercy lands: the Cabrerets
and Lucave caves, for example. There are alos ruins of the Oppidum
Roman occupation (Luzech, Murcens, Vayrac, Capdenac).
The Lot countrysides still have the mark of the flourishing Middle Ages: abbeys (Figeac, Marcilhac, Catus, Creysse, Carrenac, Calès), and many other castles (Cabrerets, Autoire), monastries and fortified caves (Chateau des Anglais in Bouzies). Its rich history is that of a generous and welcoming land, which stetches out to cover authentic villages, topped with brown slates, hamlets and beautiful manors in a bustling rural environment. At the beginning of this new millennium, it is a pleasure to recharge one's batteries in this still unspoilt region. Lot incites pleasure in life; our local culture insists that visitors are always well-received, whether they come for relaxation, active holidays, to discover the beautiful countryside, to taste the wondrous specialities or simply to enjoy the authenticity of meeting new people.
